Nice to Meet You!

Hi! I'm Peter Sahyouni, and you should know one thing about me - I love biology.

As a high schooler my love for biology began when I took AP Biology. I continued my studies as a college student by studying biology as University of Illinois at Chicago, and also spending two years researching brain cell development in a UIC neurobiology lab. 

After graduating I spent 4 years teaching middle school science, freshmen biology, and AP biology. While teaching my own classroom had its own joys, I decided to return to the lab and continue doing research as a PhD student at University of Illinois at Chicago. Now I study the genetic/molecular changes that take place during the development of a tiny worm called C. elegans to further understand how our brains establish asymmetry as we develop (left vs. right brain). The best part of this research is lighting up worms with glow in the dark proteins and taking beautiful pictures :)

Pricing

  • All tutoring sessions take place online starting as early as 6pm CST, and ending as late as 9pm CST
    • *Students located in the west suburbs of Chicago have the option of in-person tutoring for a rate of $100 per hour, so long as the location is within a 15 minute drive of Villa Park IL.
  • Tutoring sessions can be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings
  • The first session is 30% off ($49 per hour)
  • All other tutoring sessions are $70 per hour (You may choose to book a half hour session for $35, or a 45 minute session for $52)

  • Payment take place through Venmo or Zelle before the session begins
  • All sessions should be booked at least 24 hours in advance

  • If WiFi/connection goes out for more than 5 minutes, you can be partially refunded accordingly
